Free Tax Preparation ServicesVolunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program – offers free, reliable tax preparation services to individuals making less than $69,000 and cannot prepare their own returns. Volunteers are trained to help prepare basic tax returns and help ensure taxpayers claim valuable credits without paying high fees or risking costly mistakes.

REMINDERS FROM THE OFFICE

REMINDER FOR EMERGENCIESpolice/fire department have a key to enter the building in case of an emergency if you or the office is unable to open the door.

Certification Packets were delivered for signature with a return by April 26th. Please return earlier if possible, and please DO NOT include any rent check with the paperwork.

Lease Reminders – As a tenant of the Southington Housing Authority, you are responsible for:

  • Using reasonable care to keep their unit in such conditions as to ensure proper health and sanitation standards are maintained regularly.
  • Notifying us immediately if you see something such as and not limited to pests, water leakage, etc.
  • Pay the following charges for:
    • Lock Out After – Hours or Lock Change: $50.00
    • Lost Apartment Key/Replacement: $20.00
    • Lincoln Lewis Front Door Security Key: $20.00
    • Ripped Doors Repairs/Replacement
      • Front/Rear Storm Doors: $34.00
      • Windows: $28.00
    • Furniture/Bulky Waste Removal: $20.00 per item
    • Unprepared Pest Control: $25.00
    • Replacement of missing smoke detector: $40.00
    • Damage to Housing Authority property/unit: Labor & Materials

This month, we will begin random inspections, and tenants will receive proper notice of a date and time.
