FROM THE OFFICE
- FOR YOUR SAFETY – For the safety of all residents and pedestrians, please be advised that scooters and all other forms of transportation (including electric and gas-powered devices such as e-scooters, bicycles with motors, and similar vehicles) are not permitted to be operated on property sidewalks. These devices may be walked while on sidewalks and then ridden only once in the parking lot or upon reaching the public roadway. The only exception to this policy is for mobility devices used by individuals with disabilities, such as wheelchairs and other approved assistive devices, which are permitted on sidewalks.
- Celebrating AMERICA’s 250th – Looking for your input on how WE can celebrate? The office has a few ideas. Please share YOURS!
- HARP (Housing Authority Resident Program) Grant Award – We were selected to receive a $20K grant award to improve technology in all of the community rooms.
- New 65” TVS – all 4 complexes
- Computer Stations – all 4 complexes
- Menu Boards – Academy and Pleasant Street **We will evaluate the effectiveness to determine the go-forward approach**
With these improvements, we will be able to host movie afternoons/nights, stream educational programs, and assist with various renewals in your community room. At the time, we were developing our timeline and will keep you posted along the way.
- Laundry Service – Executive Director K. Meier is currently soliciting proposals from laundry vendors as the current service agreement is set to expire soon. SHA has experienced intermittent service and communication issues with the current vendor, including delays of several days and, in some cases, weeks for repairs to be completed. Management is seeking a local vendor that can provide prompt communication and reliable same-day or next-day service response.
- Solar Project Tree Removal – The Board has approved the removal and trimming of select trees at all properties as part of the solar installation project to maximize sunlight exposure and improve the overall efficiency and energy production of the new solar panels. A site survey was conducted with the solar installation team to evaluate project requirements and review the affected areas. In addition to supporting the solar project, the tree removal and trimming will help mitigate ongoing property maintenance issues, including sidewalk heaving, roof damage, and clogged gutters caused by overgrown tree roots and debris.
