Calendar House Senior Community Cafe’ by Bread for Life. Phone: 860.621.3014. Lunch will be served by Bread for Life at noon on Wednesday and Thursday. The suggested donation is $3.00. Menus and ordering guidelines are available in the Cafe, at the Calendar House front desk, or online at www.calendarhouse.org
Southington Community Services
Assistance with State Programs such as SNAP, Medicare Savings Programs, Health Insurance, etc.
You can go on the DSS website and apply yourself, or you can make an appointment with Community Services (860-628-3761), and they will assist you with your application, re-determination, and follow-up. For a list of the items needed to apply for these programs, click here.

Energy Assistance Requirements 2025-2026 Preparation
- Review the checklist to obtain copies of the following:
- Latest Eversource Bill
- Social Security statement or a DSS letter showing SSI or SSDI (Bank Statements not acceptable)
- Letter of disability, if disabled
- Pension/Annuity 2024 1099-R showing gross amount or recent monthly “stub” with gross & net
- Any other income needs separate documents (i.e., VA benefits, Unemployment, or IRA)
- If working, provide current pay stubs (two if paid by-monthly; four if paid weekly)
- SNAP letter showing current amount received
- WAYS TO APPLY
- Direct with Calendar House
- By Appointment with Southington Community Service or another agency
- Use the SHA drop box
- Southington Housing Authority will provide rent history upon request
- Benefits range from $295 – $645
- Additional programs may include Matching Payment and shut-off protection.

Recertification Notice – DUE DATE February 1, 2026
Your 1099 forms will be mailed by the end of January. Please look out for them. These documents serve as your income verification for the recertification process.
Copier will be available at the following locations and times for you to make any copies of your medical bills, bank statements, etc.

- 500 Pleasant St. January 12 – 16, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
