Energy Assistance Requirements 2025-2026 Preparation – Deadline to submit is April 1st.
- Review the checklist to obtain copies of the following:
- Latest Eversource Bill
- 2026 Social Security statement or a DSS letter showing SSI or SSDI – Acceptable forms are:
- Form SSA-492SM COLA Notice
- Request Form 2458 directly from Social Security
- Letter of disability, if disabled
- Pension/Annuity 2025 1099-R showing gross amount or recent monthly “stub” with gross & net
- Any other income needs separate documents (i.e., VA benefits, Unemployment, or IRA)
- If working, provide current pay stubs (two if paid by-monthly; four if paid weekly)
- SNAP letter showing current amount received
- WAYS TO APPLY
- Direct with Calendar House
- By Appointment with Southington Community Service or another agency
- Use the SHA drop box
- Southington Housing Authority will provide rent history upon request
- Benefits range from $295 – $645 – One-time credit to your June or July Eversource electric bill
- Additional programs may include Matching Payment and shut-off protection.

Through this program, Greater Hartford Veterans in need may receive the following services:
- Dental checkups, cleaning and prevention
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Treatment for gum and periodontal disease
Note: (Services not covered include dental implants, orthodontics, fixed bridges, telehealth)
